What is CBD?

If it comes from Marijuana will it get me high?

Just because it’s extracted from the Cannabid Sativa (Marijuana), it does not mean that it will get you high. There are two factors of Cannabis, CBD and THC. CBD is the non-psychoactive portion of the plant which basically means you won’t get any euphoric effects (or in other words get high).

However, everybody has different reactions and one person’s reaction might not be the same as another person’s. When taking a new supplement it is good to do so in a safe environment or under supervision.

What is the best way to take CBD?

CBD comes in a variety of forms and it continues to lend itself to new applications. A few of the most popular methods of intake are edibles, tinctures, vape pens and topicals. As far as the best method of intake, well it really depends on personal preference and what you’re attempting to achieve.

If you’re looking for a fast acting treatment then a vape pen might be more suitable however the effects will wear off faster. You will notice the effects of a vape pen about 10 minutes after administering and it will usually last around 2 hours.

For longer lasting relief edibles and tinctures take about 30 minute to take effect but will last around 4-5 hours.

What should I look for when buying CBD?

There are literally hundreds of different brands of CBD available. It is important that you know which ones are reputable and what signs to look for when shopping for CBD. Always check the label for tell tale signs.
• FDA Disclaimer and Warning section
• Unrealistic claims of curing illness or ailments
• Does the product offer dosage suggestions? While there is no set recommendation for dosage due to lack of research. There should be a suggested amount.
• Has it been third party tested
• Is it Lab Certified
• Product should have a batch (or lot) number and an expiration date.
• See what the active ingredients are. If there isn’t an active ingredients list stay away from it. Also look to see if any additional ingredients are listed such as Melatonin.

Will it show up on a drug test?

It should not show up on any drug test because the amounts of THC of a quality product will have less than .3% THC. However be aware some CBD oils offer an additional supplemental mix of Delta 8 THC Distillate. While Delta 8 THC is legal in most states and far less potent than Delta 9 (Its illegal counterpart) it is still THC and can show up on a drug test. Again check the label as these ingredients and warnings should be clearly stated on the label.

Can I give it to my pet?

While there are a lot of success stories and claims of promoting a healthier life style of your pets there is no definitive answer for the same reason as the claims in people… Lack of research.
